For this week’s unity workshop, we explored creating a 2d platformer with enemies and objectives. I was somewhat disappointed that we didn’t look into creating a 3d game like what was suggested last session. Furthermore, a main part of the session was looking into using tile maps. Whilst this was useful, I had already learnt how to do tile maps in the past when I used Unity. This as a result made it much more difficult to engage with the session as whilst I did need refreshers, I also already knew the gist of what was being taught. As a result of this I ended up just following along instead of trying to produce an outcome. Despite this though, I still found out about multiple ways to create new gameplay mechanics during the session which I hope to find useful in the future.
