Games Group Feedback #1

For this session we showed off the progress we had made in out projects to the rest of the Games group and our tutor. For this I showed all of the progress that I had made during the Easter holiday, with that being my animatic and character model of Adam. From this I received plenty of praise, with the only real piece of feedback that I received for my project being the fact that the long zoom in the animatic may have gone on for too long. For this I could see where my tutor was coming from as the animatic didn’t do a fair job portraying the life like camera movements that I had planned for that shot. Furthermore, as the audio couldn’t be shared there was no narration to go along with it which would have made the problem stand out less. Ultimately though this is something that I should pay attention to when making the final outcome.

Outside of this I didn’t receive much feedback. However, when one of the students who were doing a very similar project to me showed that they were at the exact same stage as me, this being retropologizing their model, it suggested that I was at a good place with my scheduling. This was good news as I had to take an extra day for retropologizing my model because I underestimated how long it would take to create the correct face topology for animation. Overall, I think that I am making good progress on my project as a whole.
