FMP Storyboard/Animatic

During the Easter holiday I cached up on my work by finalising my storyboard and creating an animatic. Both of these tasks were very important as since it is a CGI project, I need to know in advance what assets I am going to need to prepare for it. In regards to this I was very happy with how they both turned out, with the animatic ending up being fairly cinematic by being based on the storyboard’s direction. When creating the animatic however, I found that I needed to add narration to it so that I could plan out the pacing. This meant that I needed to record my own audio ahead of the audio workshop that was set for after the holiday. To do this I downloaded Auidacity and used my headset mic along with pillows and blankets to try and increase the quality. In the end though I found that I couldn’t achieve the voice that I wanted for the narration, with the gaol being a rustic wise old man. For the purposes of this animatic it didn’t matter as the audio was good enough to plan out the timing. However, for the final outcome I am going to have to find a better solution for this. One option that I found is that I could try a find someone else to record the audio who can do the voice. Another was that my friend who is experienced with audio editing showed me how to create effects on the audio to make it sound more mystical and otherworldly. Whilst I did like the version that he showed me they didn’t line up with the original vision for the narration. However, when it comes to recording the audio again, I will defiantly have to experiment with this to see what kind of audio effects I can get.
